Overview

We decided to integrate the KDS account into the Web-LDAP account for improving service and convenience. So far, the Web-LDAP account has been adopted in four web systems at KEK, i.e., research-up.kek.jp, www-conf-up.kek.jp, conference-indico.kek.jp, and web portal (ccwebhouse.kek.jp).

This time we will integrate the KDS system into these systems.

The KDS login will be switched from "Login with Indico" to "Login with Web-LDAP". Users are requested to activate the Web-LDAP account during the period of about one month.

Step to the Web-LDAP account Integration

Due to the Web-LDAP account integration, the authentication provider is replaced. And the login method will be changed from "Login with Indico" to "Login with Web-LDAP",

The Web-LDAP account will be integrated following steps;

1. During the transition period, you can login to the KDS system with both the "Indico account" and the Web-LDAP account.
2. Users are requested to activate the Web-LDAP account during the transition period.
3. After the transition period, the Indico account will be disabled,i.e., only the login with Web-LDAP is available.

How to activate the Web-LDAP account

You, each KDS user, will receive Web-LDAP account information with a key-code by e-mail. Then, you are asked to activate the Web-LDAP account, with the following steps; (A), (B), and (C) in that order.

• (A) To check the status of your Web-LDAP account

  First, you are asked to find the Web-LDAP account information in the e-mail that informs the Web-LDAP Integration for the KDS system and to check the status whether you already have the active Web-LDAP account or not.

  (A1) User who already has the active Web-LDAP account:

  If you can login to one of the web systems integrated by the Web-LDAP account, i.e., research-up.kek.jp, www-conf-up.kek.jp, conference-indico.kek.jp, and ccwebhouse.kek.jp, you already have the active Web-LDAP account. In this case, you can skip (B), and jump to (C).
  

  
  

  (A2) User who does not have a Web-LDAP account:

  If you do not have any accounts for the web systems integrated by the Web-LDAP account, you are required to activate the Web-LDAP account during the transition period. Please proceed to (B) and (C).

  
  
• (B) To set a new password for the Web-LDAP account:
  
  • (B1) Please check your account profile in the KDS system. If you have never changed your account profile before, you can proceed to the next step (B2).

    User name:

    Please check whether your user name of the KDS system and the Web-LDAP account are the same or not. If you are using the different one, you have to change your user name back to the same one with Web-LDAP. Otherwise, you cannot activate your Web-LDAP account.

    e-mail address:

    Make sure that the e-mail address of your Web-LDAP account is registered in your account profile, If you have changed the e-mail address of your profile, the system administrator has added the email address of your Web-LDAP account information.

  • (B2) Please access "Web-LDAP Account Activation page": https://webhouse.kek.jp/webldap/login.php , and login with the Indico account.
  • (B3) If successful to log in, the main page for Web-LDAP activation will be displayed.

    Please type in the key-code which is sent by e-mail, a new password for your Web-LDAP account.

  • (B4) Then, the result page will be displayed.


• (C) To register the Web-LDAP account to the KDS system .

  When you login with Web-LDAP to the KDS system for the first time, the 'New authentication method' page will be displayed. Please select the 'Add this account and log in' button on the page to link the Web-LDAP account with your profile.

Web-portal sites

We provide two kinds of web-portal sites for the Web-LDAP account to get account information, change passwords, and perform other operations.

• https://webhouse.kek.jp/portal/ (accessible from the Internet)

  Some functions are restricted for security reasons.

• https://ccwebhouse.kek.jp/portal/ (accessible only from the campus networks )

  Full functions are available including KDS and other web systems.
