Applications

This chapter explains the applications installed on the work servers and parallel servers of the Data Analysis System.

Available Applications

(*1) suspend-emacs is unavailable because there is possibility of freezing OS by using a whole CPU/memory resources on the server.
(*2) FFTW3 3.3 with MPI has been installed in /sw/packages/fftw/.( See this page for the details ).
(*3) When you'd like to use it, it's necessary to set a environment variables by the "module" command. ( See this page for the details ).
(*4) OpenJDK has been installed in /usr/lib/jvm/.
(*5) boost 1.60.0 has been installed in /opt/boost-1.60.0/.
(*6) abinit has been installed in /sw/packages/abinit. When you'd like to use it, it's necessary to set a environment variables by the "module" command. ( See this page for the details ).

Mathematica

Mathematica is available on all nodes from ccw.cc.kek.jp(login.cc.kek.jp) and math.cc.kek.jp.
If you want to execute some proccesses of Mathematica, Please use math.cc.kek.jp.

Start-Up Commands

The start commands for Mathematica are listed below.

  • GUI start command
     $> /usr/local/bin/mathematica
    
  • CUI start command
     $> /usr/local/bin/math
    
  • MathLink Template Compiler
     $> /usr/local/bin/mcc
    

Execution

This application is offered remotely via X-forwarding. Log in using ssh with X forwarding enabled.

Here is an example of how to access Mathematica from a RedHat-based OS.

1.Log in to ccw.cc.kek.jp(or login.cc.kek.jp) enabling X forwarding
   (If you want to execute some processes of Mathematica, Please log in to math.cc.kek.jp)

  [client ~]$ ssh -X ccw.cc.kek.jp
      or
  [client ~]$ ssh -X math.cc.kek.jp

2.Start Mathematica

  %> mathematica

ANSYS

Ansys can be used on all nodes from work servers.

Starting Ansys

Start the launcher and from there select the program you want to use. This application is offered remotely via X-forwarding. Log in using ssh with X forwarding enabled.

Here is an example of how to access Ansys from a RedHat-based OS.

1.Log in to work servers enabling X forwarding
   (If you want to execute some processes of ANSYS, Please log in to math.cc.kek.jp)

  [client ~]$ ssh -X login.cc.kek.jp
      or
  [client ~]$ ssh -X ccx.cc.kek.jp

2.Launching ANSYS ( v17.0 )

  $> /sw/packages/ansys_inc/v170/ansys/bin/launcher170

Allinea Forge

Allinea Forge can be used on all nodes from work servers.

Starting Allinea Forge

This application is offered remotely via X-forwarding. Log in using ssh with X forwarding enabled.

Here is an example of how to access Ansys from a RedHat-based OS.

1.Log in to work servers enabling X forwarding
   (If you want to execute some processes of ANSYS, Please log in to math.cc.kek.jp)

  [client ~]$ ssh -X login.cc.kek.jp
      or
  [client ~]$ ssh -X ccx.cc.kek.jp

2.Launching Allinea Forge ( v6.0.4 )

  $> /sw/packages/ansys_inc/v170/ansys/bin/launcher170
   or
  $> forge
